Tanaka loves to visit America and makes visits annually. His New York visits were especially exciting to him because of the many galleries and museums to visit, Broadway shows and concerts. And the many kinds of cuisine the city offers. Mr. Tanaka said, "When I am in America I don't eat Japanese food." It was on trips to New York City in 1999 and 2000 when he produced several remarkable serigraphs of the New York City Skyline as we remember it.
