The Golden Dragon Dance (Kinryu-no-mai) of Sensoji Temple, was held on this day some 13 centuries ago. The enshrined image of Kannon (Buddhist God) is said to have been found in the nearby sea by a dragon's oracle. On this night the dragon, which is more than 100 feet long, comes down from the sky. The dragon in this serigraph is beautifully shown in shining metallic gold ink. |
